Some treasures in my wardrobe

Here i am wearing an outfit entirely from Topshop. The best shop on the high street for trends and style direction. I love this floaty floral tea dress from the Kate Moss collection , super high wedges and cute ankle socks look as it carries from day to night perfectly.

In this photo i am wearing an amazing vintage coat i found in my friend Sarah Khan's store. She's the most incredible vintage collector in London her pieces are hand picked for their style and quality. I love the embellishment on the back of this coat and the bold colour, you feel really cool wearing this.

En la primera foto llevo un outfit completo de Topshop. La mejor tienda para tendencias de estilo que hay en Londres. Me encanta este vestido de seda vaporoso de flores de la colección de Kate Moss, con unas plataformas altísimas y unos calcetines color carne a juego, perfecto por el día como por la noche.

En la segunda foto llevo un abrigo vintage increíble que encontré en la tienda de mi amiga Sarah Khan. Ella tiene la mejor colección vintage de todo Londres, sus piezas son escogidas por ella con mucho estilo y tienen calidad. Me encanta la mariposa en la parte de atrás del abrigo y el color rojo fuerte.

A COLLABORATION

I was recently invited to the MA London College of Fashion - Design and Technology show. The displays of talent were inspiring, i particularly loved Sandra Rojo-Picón for her soft feminine silhouette and strong use of masculine fabrics . Her simple designs really paid attention to details. Some of the other young designers that i liked were Sophie Condie with her 'bird' influenced collection and Soa Youn Seo for his bold use of colour blocking.

This year i have been lucky enough to do a fantastic collaboration with Sandra Rojo- Picón. Her MA collection is very personal, based on the aura of her grandfather who died suddenly after she moved to London. Sandra's admiration and obsession with her grandfather is highly apparent in this collection. I'm so pleased to say that Sandra is now working for the designer Jasmine de Milo.

Recientemente me han invitado a la universidad LCF - a ver los MA de Diseño de Moda y Tecnología. El talento que se respiraba era increíble y particularmente me encantó Sandra Rojo-Picón por su diseño femenino pero fuerte uso de tejidos masculinos. Su diseño es simple prestando gran atención a los detalles. Algunos de los otros diseñadores que me gustaron fueron Sophie Condie con su colección totalmente inspirada en pájaros y SOA Youn Seo por su atrevido uso del unicolor.

Este año he tenido la suerte de hacer una colaboración fantástica con Sandra Rojo-Picón. Su colección es muy personal, totalmente inspirada en el aura de su abuelo, que murió repentinamente después de que ella se mudara a Londres. Su admiración y obsesión con su abuelo es muy evidente en esta colección. Sandra está trabajando ahora para la diseñadora Jasmine de Milo.

AN INSPIRATION

I have an obsession with vintage film stars, im now loving Shelley Duvall. In the role of Olive Oyl in Popeye, a role that was simply made for her. Her beautiful big eyes steal the show with one bat of her luscious lashes. Her damsel in distress character is played to perfection, making her an icon and an inspiration to artists and designers alike. I love her long tall silhouette, not unlike that on models today, with the elegantly tied back hair and simple make up. The gorgeous frills she wears around the neck on all her clothes are so pretty and contrast greatly to her character in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.

Tengo una obsesión con películas antiguas y estrellas de cine , y ahora me encanta Shelley Duvall. En el papel de Olivia en Popeye, un papel que parecía hecho especialmente para ella, sus hermosos ojos grandes y sus largas pestañas la hacían robar la atención del público. Su papel de ¨dama en apuros¨ lo juega a la perfección, haciendo de ella un icono y una inspiración para artistas y diseñadores. Me encanta su silueta fina y larga, no muy diferente a las modelos de hoy en día, con el pelo recogido elegantemente y maquillaje sencillo. Quiero esa camisa con volantes que lleva , toda su ropa me parece increíble y me inspira muchísimo y contrasta claramente con el personaje que hizo para su otra película El resplandor de Stanley Kubrick.

I can imagine both of her most famous character wearing these All Saints boots of mine, they can look feminine dressed up with a pretty dress or masculine with trousers or a blazer.

Me puedo imaginar a Shelley llevando mis botas de All Saints, pueden parecer hasta femeninas con vestido sencillo o masculinas, con pantalón y chaqueta.

TODAY I´M WEARING

As a massive fashion fan i follow lots of different street style blogs. My favourite is within British Vogue which focus' on 'what i am wearing today', recently featuring Alexa Chung and a host of other very stylish women.

Inspired by this i created my own version on my blog within the Vogue.es site, where i will be posting all kinds of cute and quirky looks.

Como gran seguidora que soy de blogs ¨street style¨ mi preferido es el de British Vogue donde se se centran en ¨Today I´m wearing¨ lo que llevan ese mismo día puesto algunas modelos y recientemente lo hizo Alexa Chung, que es un estilo a seguir por su clase y elegancia.

Vogue Loves Stylish Disorientation

I would like to thank Vogue one more time for their kind words, as naming me 'vogue's favourite it girl'. It´s such a lovely compliment. Having only started my blog a few months ago, and being so pleased with its shockingly speedy growth, i find it a great achievement to now be writing a blog for Vogue.

Some people think blogs have no real place in fashion, yet my blog has catapulted my business to success after success, i initially started mine to showcase my jewellery but it has become all about the lifestyle my jewellery sells with it, a lifestyle that proves; if you work hard you can have anything you want.

Me gustaría dar las gracias Vogue otra vez por sus amables palabras, y por nombrarme su it girl preferida , es un gran honor para mi. Habiendo comenzado mi blog solo hace unos meses, estoy muy contenta por su crecimiento tan rápido, y es un placer estar ahora escribiendo un blog para Vogue.

Algunas personas piensan que los blogs no tienen un lugar real en la moda, pero mi blog ha llevado mi empresa a un éxito tras otro, inicialmente comencé el mío para enseñar mis diseños, novedades y apariciones en prensa, pero se ha convertido en un estilo de vida donde mis diseños son parte de él , una forma de vida donde el trabajo y la constancia en tus propósitos es lo más importante; porque si trabajas duro puedes conseguir lo que quieras.

Keith Haring is one of the iconic artist's from New York Cities 'Andy Warhol' phase. Great friends with another of my favourite artists Basquiat, his pop art style has influenced millions of people. Bold shapes and wild block colour are now the norm, but in the 80's this was new, this was exciting, this was crazy.

This photograph taken by the incredible photographer Viktor Vauthier shows me in front of a stunning Haring piece in my friend artist and art collector Jose Maria Cano's house (I will tell you more about him very soon). We got inspired to style the photo with vivid colours, the orange of his print, matching my new orange eyes.

Keith Haring es uno de los artistas iconos de la época de Andy Warhol en Nueva York. Gran amigo, también de otro de mis artistas favoritos Basquiat, su estilo pop art ha influido a millones de personas. Las formas en negrita , y con colores son ahora la norma, pero en los años 80 esto era nuevo, emocionante, era una locura. Una idea tan sencilla pero desprendiendo tanta inspiración.

Esta foto está hecha por el increíble fotógrafo Viktor Vauthier en casa de mi amigo el artista y coleccionista de arte Jose María Cano (os contaré más de Jose María muy pronto), frente a una pieza de Haring. Estuve posando una vez más para para Viktor, como una de sus musas e inspirados en el estilo de estos cuadros, con colores fuertes, y frescos, y naranjas que coincidian con mis ojos.

Right now i am loving the 70’s vibes being thrown all over the catwalk. Especially from Massimilliano Giornetti, the previous Salvatore Ferragamo menswear designer who’s just taken over at womenswear. His collection of basic 70’s shapes given a modern make over has breathed a new life into this done over style.

Thank you Salvatore Ferragamo for bringing some of my AW10 dreams to fruition.

Me encanta la vuelta a los 70´s en los fashion shows. Especialmente Massimilliano Giornetti, antiguo diseñador de ropa de hombre de Salvatore Ferragamo que ha acabado por aceptar diseñar también ropa de mujer. Su colección es de lo más 70´s, muy ponible, llena de básicos , sabiendo darle vida a este estilo tan retro.

Gracias Salvatore Ferragamo por crear la colección AW10 de mis sueños.

As a visionary artist, my good friend Max Wiedemann creates fashionable paintings such as giant ¨Vogue Covers¨. With ironic slogans in a laugh at but love fashion way this german is on the fine line between fashion and art. The way his sarcastic aura is felt in every canvas and the cheeky stylistic features of this guys work, makes him a true genius. Mixing the themes of fashion, young culture and fine art, his paintings cannot be ignored.

Como un artista visionario, mi buen amigo Max Wiedemann crea pinturas de actualidad como su colección ¨Vogue Covers¨ con modelos pintadas en lienzos gigantes. Con lemas irónicos, es su manera alemana de estar en la línea de la moda y el arte. La forma en que su aura sarcástica se siente en cada pintura y las características de su estilo provocativo , hacen de él un verdadero genio. Sus cuadros son una brillante mezcla de moda, cultura fresca y talento , creo que sus pinturas no pueden ser ignoradas y a mi personalmente me encantan.

Rhett Butler, my inspiration.

Gone with the wind, …an inspiration, and Scarlet O’Hara my ultimate icon. Her ‘demure’ beauty, vogue style and lavish dresses are nothing else but the ideal femininity embodied. Scarlet, the women we love, the girl we aspire to keep and the lover men desire. Despite her selfish qualities, which make her utterly adorable, Scarlet is an incredible woman, a role model, a star, a muse, an example of a girl who fights for her believes and works hard to get what she wants.

As watching the movie wasn’t enough, we were called to perform…In this photos, my friend Cynthia and me were staging Rhett Butler, the playboy, known by his cocky attitude and his moustache , and Ashley as the gentleman.

¨Lo que el viento se llevó¨, ... una inspiración, y Scarlet O'Hara el icono supremo . Su "pícara" belleza, su estilo tan feminino y esos vestidos lujosos que los lleva con tanto estilo la convierten en el ideal de mujer personificado. Scarlet, la niña inocente que queremos conservar, la mujer que aspiramos ser y el deseo de un hombre. A pesar de sus cualidades muchas veces egoísta, Scarlet es una mujer increíble, un modelo a seguir, un ejemplo de una mujer que lucha por sus creencias y trabaja duro para conseguir lo que quiere.

Pero como ver la película no era suficiente, llevamos a cabo un pequeño performance con unos bigotes, mi amiga Cynthia y yo, Rhett Butler el playboy , y Ashley como el caballero.

Hay una cita de la película que me llega constantemente a mi cabeza que dice:

"Después de todo, mañana será otro día¨

This week i've had some incredible news that my floral necklace from the Baroque Poem collection is on the front cover of Spanish Vogue. The photo is taken from a Jimi Hendrix inspired spread inside the latest issue where all the amazing clothing and styling entirely directed by Belen Antolín makes my necklace and bracelets look stunning.

I´m also so excited to be finally collaborating for Vogue , where i'll be writing my new blog about fashion trends and icons, life in London, amazing artists and my latest jewellery collections.
